About Raymond L Wheeler, DMin

I am a retired certified executive coach, leadership development consultant, ordained pastoral leader, and adjunct professor of leadership who works with leaders as a friend and mentor in the complexities of a rapidly changing workplace. I also serve on the Coquille Valley Health Board of Directors.

He has also worked as a denominational executive and radio personality (formerly KFSG in Los Angeles).

He has developed and taught courses in ministry, research methods, teaching methods, leadership, and leadership ethics for LIFE Pacific University in San Dimas, California. I have also taught at Azusa Pacific University and the Angeles Bible Institute.

Janice and I celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2024. We have three adult children and five grandchildren.

I hold a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry in Administration and Leadership from Claremont School of Theology.

Here are the Core Values I Work From as I Finish Well

Faith

Maintaining confidence in God’s story, never doubting that one can prevail and turn experiences, both good and bad, into the defining events of one’s life.  I don’t confuse faith that one will prevail in the end – which I cannot afford to lose – with the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of the current reality, whatever they might be.  Faith brings both hope and reality into every situation.

Joy

I engage the highs and lows of life in a way that contributes to flourishing while also overcoming negative emotions. Thus, I enjoy life and work through the lens of personal integration and appreciation of the contributions and discoveries brought by others. I love what I do, and I love the results. I engender a positive and energizing learning environment.

Curiosity

I start with curiosity, an orientation that insists on interrogating reality to discover new connections, causes, effects, and patterns. I am committed to deliberately using every experience and challenge to learn cognitively and affectively. Learning unleashes new creative actions while also appreciating existing insight and experience. My curiosity advances learning and growth toward the future without scorching the past.

Generosity

I help people define their needs, goals, and situations to provide insight, knowledge, experience, and services for growth and success. I practice generosity in resources and communication, so I adjust rapidly to changing environments and market changes to assist people in addressing the problems before them now, not yesterday. I also create and implement strategies to meet today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.

Integrity

I serve with a commitment to do what I say and say what I do every time without fail. It is a behavior that “comes out from behind oneself,” abandoning the “safety” of confusion and dishonesty for the vitality and motivation of clarity. This results in listening, being truly present in relationships, and freely admitting the need for growth or correction. I recognize that our gifts, abilities, and knowledge base are resources I steward for which I must give an account to family, God, and friends.

  1. Found you as I was researching for a presentation I’m doing on mentoring. Glad I did. I’m also a Grip-Birkman coach. Love leading others through that process. Look forward to reading more of your posts.
